- 12 oz elbow macaroni
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups milk
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Cook macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in milk, cooking until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in cheddar and Parmesan cheeses until melted. Season with salt and pepper.
